Child Care Grants Awarded to Local Providers

Hugo, Oklahoma – Smart Start Tri-County is pleased to announce the presentation of child care grants to six early childhood programs in the Choctaw, McCurtain and Pushmataha areas. The grants are part of the Reaching for the Stars Facilitation Project Grant funded through Smart Start Tri-County in partnership with Smart Start Oklahoma. The grants range from $500 to $1,000 and will be used by local facilities to purchase child care equipment, access child care mentoring services, increase professional development opportunities, and assist in meeting quality criteria for the OKDHS Reaching for the Stars program. Smart Start Tri-County issued 12 grants last year worth $7,000 to help Child Care Providers reach their potential.
